چکیده

The influence of malnutrition upon susceptibility to infection has been well-documented in man (I, 2). Hence increased morbidity and mortality observed in malnourished populations can be explained, at least in part, by the detrimental effects of malnutrition on various aspects of the humoral (3, 4), cell-mediated (5, 6), and secretory (7, 8) immune responses. These effects have been most clearly demonstrated in children suffering from the more severe forms of protein and energy malnutrition, although recent studies indicate that subclinical malnutrition may also significantly impair a child’s ability to respond immunologically to infectious agents (9, 20). The latter findings have far-reaching implica-

Evaluation of Humoral and Cell-mediated Immunity of Two Capripoxvirus Vaccine Strains against Lumpy Skin Disease Virus

Background and Aims: Prevention of Lumpy skin disease (LSD) in cattle is heavily dependent on vaccination. Since the genetic structure of LSD virus has the close relatedness with other Capri-pox virus (CaPV). Therefore, the use of vaccine strains of CaPV derived from sheep and goat would be useful to protect cattle against LSD. Materials and Methods: The susceptible calves of dairy farms were ...

Antibody Response to Live Attenuated Vaccines in Adults in Japan

The purpose of this study was to examine the efficacy rendered with a single dose of live attenuated measles, rubella, mumps, and varicella containing vaccine. We inoculated healthcare workers (HCWs) with a single dose of vaccine to a disease lacking in antibody titer for those not meeting the criteria of our hospital (measles: <16.0 (IgG enzyme immunoassay (EIA)), rubella: ≤1:32 (hemagglutinat...

Measles vaccination by the intradermal route.

Introduction Live further-attenuated measles vaccines were made generally available in the United Kingdom early in 1966 following the Measles Vaccine Committee's Report to the Medical Research Council (1966).
